Information

Here you will find various pieces of information that we think will help you when you are navigating the sometimes choppy waters of Import / Export.

AMERICA
Following the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 the whole world is now on terror alert. The U.S. Congress adopted the Trade Act of 2002 which mandates the filing of advanced manifest data for vessels carrying goods destined for the U.S. One goal of the Act was to identify as early as possible dangerous goods that are being smuggled into the U.S. Under this Act we are required to file specific data to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) prior to loading on a vessel at a foreign port.

On October 13th, 2006, the President signed into law the SAFE Port Act which mandated that ten additional data elements should be submitted to CBP.

Most of the information we will be able to supply ourselves, but on occasion we will need your help. The Importer Security Filing (ISF) document list the additional information that needs to be submitted.

Any wood or pieces thereof NOT treated and/or not CLEARLY MARKED according to the ISPM 15 standards, may require the wood, along with the accompanying cargo, to be RE-EXPORTED immediately on the importing vessel.
